Art Show, Physics Demonstrations, Rube Goldberg Machine
Demonstrations, Classroom Displays, Fun Activities, a
Community Yard Sale, Yummy
Cuisine, and Recognition of all Mothers and Mother Figures.

the VI Chess Federation, which is housed at Manor, hosted
two events featuring Maurice Ashley, the first African-American
Grand Master of International Chess.

2011 Eagles Golf Tournament
Congratulations to the winners of The Manor School Eagle Scholarship Golf Tournament held Saturday, October
21, 2011, at The Reef on St. Croix. First place winners were Robert Chrisman, Marianne Eggett, Juan Rios, and Jeff Christian
who won special golf trophies, and silver hook bracelets from Sonya's. All the winners received liters of flavored Cruzan Rum and lunch. David
McCoy, Brian Grant, Sally & Santiago Rodriguez were second with certificates from No Bones and Paradise Cafes, a tune up from
Target Tire, and a framed Lisa Etree print from Many Hands. In third place were Chuck Butcher, Linda Camacho,
Jonathan Stith, and Joe Bradford who received laptop carrying bags from the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts. Dennis Denner, Pat Waddington, Steve Taylor, and Bill
Daniels earned fourth. Closest to the Hole women's winner was Sally Rodriguez who received a Chloe gift set from Violette's Boutique. Dennis
Denner took the honor for the men with a travel tablet and pen from The Frame Up.
Holes were sponsored by Cruzan Environmental
Services, Marshall & Sterling, Plaza Extra, Quality Auto Parts, HH
Tire & Battery, and L & C Tent Rental. Sponsors, in addition to those
mentioned above, were Schooner Bay Market, Cost U Less, Reef Golf
Course, Teddy's and Manor's Jr. Ranch Cadet Program.
Special thanks and congratulations to Tournament
Director David McCoy and Asst. Director Doug Millar for a fun
scramble, delicious food and incredible prizes.

Chess Lessons and Clubs
Saturday Chess at Manor School
Held in the Resource Room from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. hosted by Ms.
Murphy, Mr. Reece, with assistance from other members of the Virgin
Islands Chess Federation. Lessons,varying by age and ability,
are available; $5 per lesson or $25 for 5 lessons in advance!
The St. Croix Chess Club
Wednesday nights at Wendy's in Sunny Isle from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. hosted
by Ms. Murphy. Open to chess players of all
ages and skill levels.
Sponsored by the Virgin Islands Chess Federation.
